Don't Leave Us!

We’ve noticed that engagement on social media has dropped off considerably. Other rescues are saying the same thing. We have friends who have stopped using social media. We understand; we get it. Social media can be an upsetting place right now and can be so draining. Political arguments, images of too many homeless and lost pets, and other difficult social issues are driving people away. People are tired and want peace.

But this is very unfortunate for animal welfare organizations who depend upon the support of followers to raise donations and help find homes for our pets. We cannot continue without this support. Social media has been a lifesaver for so many homeless pets and has aided in reuniting countless lost pets. The community we have formed has been invaluable. There really isn’t anything else available to replace it.

Does social media have to be all or nothing? We’d like to make a plea to you to continue to support us and your other favorite organizations on social media. Here’s how. You can simply unfollow the people and pages that cause you to feel uncomfortable while still following your favorite organizations. By only following what is important to you, it’s easy to avoid the unpleasantness. Or do what we do – just check in on our favorite rescues once a day, and that’s it!

We don’t want to lose our friends, and we hope that you still want to see the stories of the oldies we help!
