A Visit to the Vet

Golly saw the vet yesterday for a check up. In addition to the dementia and rear leg atrophy, the growth on his spleen has gotten larger. The vet discovered it last summer. Because he's had it for such a long time, it's unlikely it's cancer. Many splenic tumors are cancerous and likely to be hemangiosarcoma, and the prognosis is very bad. But just because it's probably not cancer, that doesn't mean the tumor still can't rupture. I've noticed Golly's been burping a lot lately, probably because the spleen is pressing on his stomach. Yet, Golly still seems happy and enjoys life. What a strong boy. We're grateful for every day he's here.
